Oh, how I miss my flowers from the farm. This grand lady bloomed like this every year on the corner of our house. I could see her peeking in my kitchen window every day. I always dug a hole under her and set out my Christmas cactus around Memorial Day. One year I checked on my cactus and found that someone had mowed it off even with the top of the pot. Never did find out who the helpful person was that did it. Of course who would think that there was a plant hiding under there? The cactus did bounce back, but it took several years before she bloomed. May 30, 2009
