July 4, 2011

As we do every year, we go to the park and listen to the polka music. This year we had a few extras stop by and visit us. Little Haddie was like a doll in her red , white and blue.

You can only hold her for a while, then she wants to get down. Here she is pushing me so I would set her on the ground. What a smiley girl she is!

Felicity and her friends dancing to the polka music.

Of course Kathryn and Sis were with us too. Charli and Colten also stopped by to say Hi and chat a while. A good time was had by all. Such a beautiful day in Wisconsin with family and friends. What more can we ask for?

February 25, 2011

My birthday was a few days ago. All of a sudden the door flies open and there stands Chloe Kapitz , yelling ,"Happy Birthday Gramma!" She hands my this big bouquet of flowers. Oh! so pretty. They are still on our kitchen table and I change the water every day and say," Thank you, Chloe and Deb". You found the way to my heart!
Then after supper, we were watching the news and in comes these two silly girls. Tim and Diane had taken Charli and Gabby to Happy Joe's and they played in the play room and WON all these goofy toys.
Oh!, to be young again~~~ Such good friends these two are~~ Thanks for all the birthday wishes~~ until next year~~~

Pretty Christmas Things 2010

One of our many great-grands, Lily Emmerich. Taken at church right after the Christmas program this year.

The day after our wedding anniversary our door bell rang and we were handed this beautiful centerpiece from Dean and Sue and their family. It really makes our apartment smell like Christmas. Thanks Dean and Sue.

Of course , the first thing I put up in December in my Nativity set. It is the last to come down when Christmas is all packed away.

Another colorful spot is the tree corner with a blue tablecloth underneath loaded with snowmen. How plain it will all look when all is packed away in hauled back to the basement until next year.

Christmas Cookies 2010

I wanted to have some help to make Christmas cookies and to make memories for our great-grand kids. Lily Angel is Tim's grand-daughter and she loves helping me in the kitchen. Here our little lefty is putting cookies on the cookie sheet.

"I want to roll the dough by myself this time, okay Gramma? This is fun, I like this."

Now here is the master chef, Peyton Emmerich!! He rolled the dough down so thin, we had to pick it up and start over. How else can they learn, if we don't give them a chance. Charli says ," Look at muscle man here rolling out that dough!"

Gramma says,"Peyton, turn around so we can see your pretty apron." Taa Daa!!! Now back to the baking~~~Scan down~` another post follows~~ We move on to Grandpa's bedroom where we can spread the cookies out- you know our kitchen is small, so we have to expand to other rooms sometimes.

Christmas Cookies with Peyton & Lily

A week ago Tim brought his grandkids here to help make cookies for Christmas. Peyton really got into it here packing down the dough.

Chad's friend, Jacci and Charli get in the act when it's time to decorate them.

Peyton says, "This is my favorite cookie, I'm gonna eat this one!"

Lily," I think I like the blue bunny one right here, Grandma Emmerich. When can we eat them?"

Halloween 2010

These two little men surprised us by showing up at our door on Sunday. Corbin and Collin Sperl as cowboy and scarecrow had to pose for the camera.

This bunch was really scary!!! Peyton, the green skeleton and Lily the princess, brought two of their friends along for trick or treat . We never did see the face behind the white mask.

A close-up of the princess!! Smile pretty , Lily~~

Little flower girl, Haddie and big sis, Felicity stopped after the parade to gather some candies. Granny loves to cuddle the greatgrands when they are here. Hope you all had as Happy Halloween as we did. See ya next year.

Summer Fun and Family~July, 2010

Heading to watch the Sunday Night, Church softball game- Peyton and Lily lead the way the the bleachers.
Charli grabs the bat and tries her skill at bat, she made it to second base, but did not score a run this time.
Hummm!!! I think I will hit it way over that fence back there!!! Oh, what fun to see the Storm team in action .Maybe next time, Charli. Keep up the good work while having fun--

Peyton's Soccer~July 21,2010

Yesterday we went to watch Peyton play his final of the season, soccer game. When the game ended, his coach gave them all a white ribbon and shook their hands and said ,"Congratulations."
He comes running over to tell us this and he said,"That means we played good doesn't it?" Yes, little Buddy, you did play good!!!
We never know the score- who needs to keep score for this?? So much fun watching these boys and girls playing their little hearts out just for the fun.

What happened?? I thought I cropped out the coach's butt!!! Oh, well, you get the drift~~ Peyton gives a high-five to a player from the other team~~That's our little man~`proud of him we are!!!

Charli's Confirmation, May 23, 2010

We had a double header on Sunday. First Jack Rodman was baptized at the 8:00 worship and then at the 10:15 service, Charli was confirmed as she pledged her life to God and the church.
We were not in a good seat for taking photos at church, so I only got these from the party at the park following services. Charli and her parents waiting for the cake to be cut.

Come on, Gramma, get it done, the cake is melting here!!

Two pretty girls!! Tim was in charge of his favorite grand-daughter, Lily Angel, so we had to get a shot of her with Charli. Congratulations go to you Charli!! We are proud to have you in our family.

Charli's Spring Band Concert- April, 2010

Last week, Tim and I walked across the street to watch the Spring Band Concert at the Middle School. It was to be the last time Charli would perform at this school- next year she will be in high school!! Where does the time go??? This is Charli and her very best friend, Gabby Staples. I wanted a picture of them with their jackets on, but they already had taken them off, so they held the jackets in front of them--silly girls!!
The next shot is Charli's class waiting for their turn to play. I don't think she looks too happy on here--It's okay, Charli, you will do just fine--and she did!!

This last one is the seventh and eighth grades playing together-- guess what the final song was__ Go Big Red!!! Man, everyone was in on that one, even little ole grannies(ahem). Yep, Tim and I were yelling, "GO BIG RED". What a good concert they put on for us. Way to go, Charli. Good Luck in Senior High!
