July 4, 2011

As we do every year, we go to the park and listen to the polka music. This year we had a few extras stop by and visit us. Little Haddie was like a doll in her red , white and blue.

You can only hold her for a while, then she wants to get down. Here she is pushing me so I would set her on the ground. What a smiley girl she is!

Felicity and her friends dancing to the polka music.

Of course Kathryn and Sis were with us too. Charli and Colten also stopped by to say Hi and chat a while. A good time was had by all. Such a beautiful day in Wisconsin with family and friends. What more can we ask for?

Easter Flashback

Does anyone know who these girls are? The year must be about 1972.  At least this year her basket was not in the cold wet basement!

I guess I must have said, "Cheese!" Looks like more grass than candy in those baskets. Girls- were you naughty this year?  I've been seeing these a lot on the slide here on my computer and thought you might get a laugh seeing them too. Have a Blessed Happy Easter one and all~~

Time to Baptize Dolly-March, 2011

A couple days ago Julie and Tracy left Felicity here while they went shopping. I was doing my own permanent so I gave her the dolly and she was feeding her. Here she is washing the dish from feeding her baby. I was in the kitchen rinsing my hair when she decided to rinse her hair too. She is soaked! Her shirt was soaked so she took it off, it is on the floor. She's having fun- just leave her alone-go finish what you were doing in the kitchen, Granny!
Coming back in a couple minutes--Oh! Oh! now what is she going to do? Wash the dolly's hair of course.

I was laughing so hard, I could hardly hold the camera. Yep, the water is just right now, so here we go----

I baptize you, Lucy Dolly, Oh, my goodness this is so precious even without a shirt on. At least I dried the water off her nose that was dripping down. We had to mop the floor and call Tracy to bring in dry clothes for her to wear home. Come again soon, Felicity, you make my day!

We Have a Mouse in the House

Today Jules and Felicity were here for a while. They stopped in to pick up some fabric to make a night gown for Felicity~~
Felicity and I were playing with our dolls and Jules says, "Mom, can I sample your Lazy Daisy cake?"  I had just baked it for VFW soup lunch tomorrow. This is what I found on my counter after they left. Hummm, I wonder who~~~

Halloween 2010

These two little men surprised us by showing up at our door on Sunday. Corbin and Collin Sperl as cowboy and scarecrow had to pose for the camera.

This bunch was really scary!!! Peyton, the green skeleton and Lily the princess, brought two of their friends along for trick or treat . We never did see the face behind the white mask.

A close-up of the princess!! Smile pretty , Lily~~

Little flower girl, Haddie and big sis, Felicity stopped after the parade to gather some candies. Granny loves to cuddle the greatgrands when they are here. Hope you all had as Happy Halloween as we did. See ya next year.

Bloggers in action- Feb. 27, 2010

Last weekend was Women's Weekend here in Medford, Wisconsin. There were several workshops set up around the town with fun things for women to do. Deb and Jules set up in the Chamber office with a shop on learning how to blog. They really did their home work and came up with a good plan to teach us how to get started blogging.
Here they are waiting for some gals to show up so they can run their shop. I attended the afternoon session and had a good time. I'm still trying to figure out if I learned anything or not. It's been kind of busy around here the last couple days, haven't been on the net too much. If you want catch us at home, you better make an appointment!!!

December 25, 2009 - Our Christmas Baby

Oh, yes, Julie was born on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 1963. Dad had taken the rest of the family to Grandma Emmerich's for dinner while I stayed home and waited for Julie to make her appearance. It was 6:00 pm when she finally got here. Dr. Meyer bawled me out for making him miss his big Christmas dinner with his family.

Here she is about a freshman I think because she is wearing her braces. Remember what I always told you, Jules? "You better smile that $2000.00 smile!" I wonder what braces cost in this day--Brush 'em! floss 'em!!!

Here is Graduation Day for Jules. I remember she had a stack of shirts - she couldn't deciede which one to wear that day. I like the blue flowery one she picked. Happy Birthday to you, Jules--We love you--Mom & Dad-- Scan down-more

Double Birthday Wishes - Paul and Jules

This was taken on the day that we had Paul and Julie baptized. Julie clung to her little Baptism napkin nearly all day.

This is the only picture we have of Julie as a baby. We were living on the Lemke farm at the time. She is about eighteen months old on here.

They spent lots of time playing in the snow, now Julie hates the cold and Paul still can be found outside in the woods tramping around. Here Paul is wearing the black coat, (hence the name Bear) that Myrtle Emmerich gave us . She made it for Jay- when he outgrew his clothes, she brought them to us.

Paul's baby picture at one year old. We sure did not put much effort in doing pictures in the olden days!!! Sorry kids, if I could go back in time I would change that!! Happy Birthday to both of you!! Love from Mom

Andy and Casey Wedding- Sept.26, 2009

Here comes the bride!!! Congratulations Andy and Casey-What a beautiful wedding. The weather was perfect, the wedding party was fantastic, the food was good and the company was the best!! Have a happy marriage!!

For those of you that were not at the gift opening today, here are a couple snaps of their wedding quilt. I used the log-cabin block, done in earth tones, just because they are down to earth people. This is one block.

This is the very center of the quilt.

---and a bigger view. It should fit on a queen size bed, so it is not all on the picture here. I hope you both enjoy it. I had fun working on it for two special people. Lots of prayers went into each block sewn with love!!!
