Bloggers in action- Feb. 27, 2010

Last weekend was Women's Weekend here in Medford, Wisconsin. There were several workshops set up around the town with fun things for women to do. Deb and Jules set up in the Chamber office with a shop on learning how to blog. They really did their home work and came up with a good plan to teach us how to get started blogging.
Here they are waiting for some gals to show up so they can run their shop. I attended the afternoon session and had a good time. I'm still trying to figure out if I learned anything or not. It's been kind of busy around here the last couple days, haven't been on the net too much. If you want catch us at home, you better make an appointment!!!

Mardi Gras- Feb.14,2010

Yesterday at St. Paul's we had a celebration for Mardi Gras. The fellowship hall was all decked out in New Orleans fashion, and everyone was wearing strings of beads(except Grandpa.)After worship, we all went downstairs for a pizza party with the confirmation kids waiting on us. Here is Charli serving up a hot pizza. It was really yummy!!!
This is the group of youth here at St. Paul's that will be welcomed into membership in May when they will get confirmed. They are going to summer camp in upper Michigan this summer, hense the need to raise some money!! Good Job, kids!!
Charli and her friend, Cole Higgins. Ohhh!! look how shy they are!! Haaa!!
These were hanging all over in the entrance to our church, along with streamers and other little hanging things. What a fun day!! Pastor Pete said, "Who says we can't have fun when we go to church?" Well, we do here quite often!!! More fund raisers coming up---

January 15, 2010- More helpers

We had a little mini birthday party for Tim with Chad, Jacki, and the kids. Peyton wanted to hear Grandpa play his music box! Of course Lily and Peyton had to help. Look, Peyton is on tippy toes!! "It really sparkles up here, O Man!"
Here is Lily doing a fancy dance for us- Peyton is in awe that Gramps can make the box play music.
Now it is time to help him play--" This sounds good doesn't it, Grandpa?"
Ok, Ok, Is it my turn now, Lily??? I want to punch the buttons too. Grandpa is thinking," Will one of these kids learn to play it someday?" Is it time to eat yet??

Happy Birthday to you , Tim-- Jan. 14,2010

Tim was born on Jan. 14, 1960. It was a cold, windy day with a big storm brewing. We were living on the old Brugge farm where the wind blew in around the windows, Brr, cold! He entered this world during the lunch hour, so the doctor and nurse were not happy. Tim was a colicy baby so I spent the first six months walking the floors with him. We had to try lots of different kinds of milk, and nothing agreed with him. Then on top of that I got pregnant right away in March with Paul. I'm sure glad you girls nowadays have better control than we did!!!! I always said I wouldn't change anything, and I'm sticking to it!! Tim is one year old here--
Tim in the second grade. He has his Dad's dimple in the chin. Gramma Maude Emmerich told me, " Dimple in the chin, devil within!" I told her," Well, he got it from Kenny, so what do I have to expect?"

The dimple is still there! Yep, he's growing up now, and discovered the girls in his class. Read his "Life Echoes" blog to hear his stories about him memories of school days. He has a memory that you won't believe, and very interesting to read.

This was taken about seventeen years ago when we were taking pictures for our forty year wedding anniversary at one of Lorin and Julee's homes. Did you get any black balloons today, Tim? Or a coffee mug with the big "50" on it? Happy Birthday to you- see you tomorrow- We love you-- Dad and Me

Happy Birthday , Lily--January 9,2010

Of course Charli got on this post too-- I have these two girls on my slide show together so that is how it comes out this way. A couple of show stoppers aren't they??
And where ever you see Lily, Peyton is not far away. Here they are at worship in the park, holding pictures of Pastor Pete's hand - the word is, "God's work, Our Hands." They love Pastor Pete!!!

On this Sunday Charli and I were ushers so Lily and Peyton helped out. She is handing out the Sunday bulletin to the people coming in the door. She had just said to me, "Aren't you glad you have such a good helper, Gramma Emmerich?" And that she is , always wanting to help me. I wish you could have seen Peyton's eyes when we collected the offering and carried it up front!!! I think he thought the money was for him!!!! What a Blessing these two are in our lives!!! Happy Birthday to you, Lily-- we love you a bushel and a peck!! She is six years old today----
