Some of My Sisters Flashback

The eldest of my siblings is Beatrice, we call her Beatsie, turned 90 years old yesterday.

The second one is Kathryn. She turned 88 years old in July. Here she is with her companion, Frank.

Christine is one of the twins. I always remember how old they were because they were 10 years older than me. Christine and her hubby, Leo, at a wedding no doubt.

Carol is the baby of the family . I bet she hated being called that all these years. Carol and Larry here all cuddly and smiles.

Lucille and her husband, Harvey dancing the night away. Must be another wedding, they have flowers!!

Pretty Christmas Things 2010

One of our many great-grands, Lily Emmerich. Taken at church right after the Christmas program this year.

The day after our wedding anniversary our door bell rang and we were handed this beautiful centerpiece from Dean and Sue and their family. It really makes our apartment smell like Christmas. Thanks Dean and Sue.

Of course , the first thing I put up in December in my Nativity set. It is the last to come down when Christmas is all packed away.

Another colorful spot is the tree corner with a blue tablecloth underneath loaded with snowmen. How plain it will all look when all is packed away in hauled back to the basement until next year.

Christmas Cookies 2010

I wanted to have some help to make Christmas cookies and to make memories for our great-grand kids. Lily Angel is Tim's grand-daughter and she loves helping me in the kitchen. Here our little lefty is putting cookies on the cookie sheet.

"I want to roll the dough by myself this time, okay Gramma? This is fun, I like this."

Now here is the master chef, Peyton Emmerich!! He rolled the dough down so thin, we had to pick it up and start over. How else can they learn, if we don't give them a chance. Charli says ," Look at muscle man here rolling out that dough!"

Gramma says,"Peyton, turn around so we can see your pretty apron." Taa Daa!!! Now back to the baking~~~Scan down~` another post follows~~ We move on to Grandpa's bedroom where we can spread the cookies out- you know our kitchen is small, so we have to expand to other rooms sometimes.

Christmas Cookies with Peyton & Lily

A week ago Tim brought his grandkids here to help make cookies for Christmas. Peyton really got into it here packing down the dough.

Chad's friend, Jacci and Charli get in the act when it's time to decorate them.

Peyton says, "This is my favorite cookie, I'm gonna eat this one!"

Lily," I think I like the blue bunny one right here, Grandma Emmerich. When can we eat them?"

Blizzard of Dec. 11, 2010

Oh, yes let it snow!!! We had 20 inches of the white stuff. We just sat inside and watched and prayed for everyone to be safe. Today a big machine and two dump trucks came in and picked the snow up from the huge piles and took it to the fairgrounds where it will be used for snowmobile events in January.

Here is where we spend our time in the summer and visit. Not for a while now I guess. Snow is too deep to get there.

The snow blew off the building all day and piled on the trees. They look like a Christmas card picture.

Poor Ole Glory, she had a bad day, first one way, then the other. She still flies , no matter what the weather!!
