Last week's project

Christmas stockings for the Stolp family. These will be hanging on their mantle over the firepalce this Christmas eve. Merry Christmas Joni, Bob, and Joey!!

This stocking is big enough to tuck little Joey inside(almost)

And to our next great grand daughter to be born on New Years eve, this one is for you Amelia Sue. All ready for next year now~~ I had made one for Drew Leischer also, but did not get a photo of that one. Just like Joey's but with "Drew" embroidered on it. Sorry, Tabby- Granny was not on the ball here!!! It's beginning to look a lot like Advent at church- that means we have 4 weeks to get ready for the birth of our Lord!!! Are you getting in the mood for Christmas yet??? Gotta got my stable set up this week, then I am ready!!! That is the first thing up and the last thing down here at our home!! Oh, yeah, and bake cookies, and put up tree, and etc. etc. ~~~I think I am on the track now~~Merry CHRISTmas everyone

Veteran's Day--11-11-11

The  guy that I married and had to share him with Uncle Sam. He served for two years, spending one year in Korea. He came home to us on February 2, 1955

He was commander at the local VFW for four years and still is the Senior Vice Commander to this day!Bruce, our number 1 son joined the Army when he was a senior in high school and entered the service in August that year. Nearly tore my heart out to see him go!! He served a year in Germany and came home and married his high-school sweatheart. Proud of you too, Bruce!!

And then there is Dean. He wanted to join the Army too just like his Dad and Bruce. I had such a hard time apart from the first two, so finally got him to join the National Guard instead. He was active in there for a few years--as the saying goes,"The Guards are on alert and always ready!" Way to go ,Son!! So proud of our men and thank God every day for sending them home to us. Thanks to all the others that served and are still serving to keep our country free~~Bless you all~~~

Tomahawk Trip Oct.5,2011

Every year we take a drive to Tomahawk to visit our sister-in law, Lorraine Westrich. She is 93 years young  and still in her own home. She goes to Florida after Christmas and stays with her daughter until April. This pretty tree is right across the street from her home- isn't it just the prettiest???
We had just got back from having lunch at a little diner, and these three are going up the front steps.
Stop right there, you two ladies, so I can snap a picture of you both. Kenny backed down the steps, he did not want his picture taken I guess!!

Right on Lorraine's front lawn is this beauty- just loaded with red berries. She can watch the birds in the tree eating the berries. What a fun day we had going over old times and memories. Enjoy every day - you only get one chance at it- loaded with family and pretty scenes that He has given us~~~

Alzheimer's Quilt 2011

Again this year, I have been asked to sew a quilt for the Memory Walk here in Medford, that will take place in September. This year I chose to use the Quarter-Log-Cabin block. Done in lilac and purple, the colors for Alzheimers.

It is a king size quilt, so here most of it is on the floor
on each side of my twin bed.

Felicity was playing with her dolly and thought it would be fun to take a nap on the quilt as I had it thrown over Grandpa's bed while I was putting the binding on the edges.

She said to me,"Now I get to take a picture of you, Gramma." This little old Kenmore machine is such an old faithful friend of mine. I can't keep track of the time I've spent here sewing on the machine, loving every minute of it. Windows open and a soft breeze blowing in, Kenmore humming away and I think I am in heaven! My cup runneth over too, Jacki~~~

July 4, 2011

As we do every year, we go to the park and listen to the polka music. This year we had a few extras stop by and visit us. Little Haddie was like a doll in her red , white and blue.

You can only hold her for a while, then she wants to get down. Here she is pushing me so I would set her on the ground. What a smiley girl she is!

Felicity and her friends dancing to the polka music.

Of course Kathryn and Sis were with us too. Charli and Colten also stopped by to say Hi and chat a while. A good time was had by all. Such a beautiful day in Wisconsin with family and friends. What more can we ask for?
