Memorial Day, 2010

The day started out with the flags at half-staff to honor those no longer with us here on Memorial Day, 2010. There were about 300 people here this day. Fifty families had stones placed for their loved ones today, much excitement!!
These men are the Honor guard that do the Twenty-one gun salute at all our funerals here in Medford. The man on the left is my husband, Ken, calling the men to attention for the playing of "Taps."

The plane that drops the wreath into the river- honoring those that lost their lives at sea. The wreath finds it's way to shore and is brought up and placed in front of the wall.

At high noon, the Boy Scouts do their part and raise the flags up to full staff to blow in the wind, what a glorious sight , indeed. Old Glory is the main focal point, just as she should always be. Look at that sky!! Not a cloud around today!! --Scan down--more posts to follow--
